Image
TCP/IP CONFIGURATION Step 1: Click the Start button and search “Control Panel”. Step 2: In Control Panel, click “Network and Internet”. Step 3: After that, click “Network and Sharing Center”. Step 4: After opened the “Network and Sharing Center”, click the connection which you are connecting, in this example we click the “Wi-Fi (Kediaman Pelajar)” in order to configure the IP address. Step 5: After we clicked the connection, we can see the Wi-Fi status interface. Click the “Properties” button. Step 6: After clicked the “Properties” button, we can see the Wi-Fi properties. Click the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/Ipv4)”, then click “Properties” button. Step 7: This is what we can see after clicking the “Properties ” button. To configure the IP address, click the radio button “Use the following IP address”. Step 8: Enter the IP address of the Ulearn System Server calculated in Question 2, 172.31.160.5. Subnet mask will be filled automatically based on the IP address filled. After

SUBNETTING CALCULATION

SUBNETTING CALCULATION Subnetting Calculation   Private addressing scheme: 172.31.0.0 /16 1 IT Centre and 10 Faculties. 11 subnet is needed. To have 11 subnets, we must find the nearest number which is not lesser than 11. In this case, 16 is the most suitable. PROGRESS 1

PROGRESS 1 OSI Layer Model Application layer: This is the only layer that directly interacts with data from the user. In this case, software applications like web browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge rely on the application layer to initiate communications. For example, when a student requests content in ULearn such as a lecture note, this application session will return the content “lecture note” to the student. But it should be made clear that client software applications are not part of the application layer, rather the application layer is responsible for the protocols and data manipulation that the software relies on to present meaningful data to the user. Application layer protocols include HTTP.   Presentation layer:   This layer is primarily responsible for preparing data so that it can be used by the application layer, in other words, presentation makes the data presentable for applications to consume.
